Key takeaway: $34 a month is Hunter.io's entry paid plan, Starter, billed yearly ($408 a year for 24,000 credits), per hunter.io/pricing, read on 1 November 2026. On monthly billing Starter is $49. Growth is $104 a month yearly or $149 monthly for 120,000 credits a year, and Scale is $209 or $299 for 300,000. Every plan includes unlimited team members, and the Free plan gives 50 credits a month.

Hunter is an email finder and verifier with a built-in cold email tool (Sequences). Recruiters use it to turn a candidate's name and company domain into a work email address, then check that the address will not bounce.

Hunter prints dollar prices for every standard plan. The pricing page has two tabs: "All-in-one outreach platform" (the subscription plans) and "Data Platform" (pay-as-you-go API credits). Every figure below was read on Hunter's own page on 1 November 2026 in a rendered browser, and the per-credit costs come from a script committed with this article.

How much does Hunter.io cost in 2026?

The toggle reads "Pay yearly -30%" and "Pay monthly." Yearly plans show a struck-through list price next to the yearly total, and "All credits are available upfront for the whole year."

Hunter plan (checked 1 Nov 2026) Billed yearly Billed monthly Credits Connected email accounts
Free $0 $0 50 a month 1
Starter $34/month ($408 a year) $49/month 24,000 a year or 2,000 a month 3

The header line applies to all of them: "Unlimited users, auto-verified Hunter lead data on all plans." Hunter's own FAQ confirms that everyone on a plan "will share the same pool of credits included in your plan."

How much does yearly billing save on Hunter?

About 30% on every paid plan, matching the toggle label. Monthly credits multiplied by 12 equal the yearly allowance, so yearly billing buys the same credits for less, paid upfront.

Plan 12 months on monthly billing Yearly price Saving
Starter $588 $408 $180 (30.6%)
Growth $1,788 $1,248 $540 (30.2%)
Scale $3,588 $2,508 $1,080 (30.1%)

The FAQ also allows short commitments: "You're free to take a subscription just for one month and cancel it when your work is done." After cancelling, "you'll still have access to your premium plan until the end of your subscription cycle."

How are Hunter.io credits counted?

The pricing FAQ lists three rules:

  • "1 credit = 1 email found via Domain Search, Email Finder, or Bulk Email Finder"
  • "1 credit = up to 10 emails found via Bulk Domain Search"
  • "0.5 credit = 1 email verified via Email Verifier or Bulk Email Verifier"

Failed lookups are free: for the Email Finder, "If the email address can't be found, it's free," and a verification that returns Unknown costs nothing. Repeats are counted once: "The same email searches or verifications are counted once per billing period."

What does a Hunter.io credit cost per plan?

Dividing each price by its credits gives the effective rate. Bigger plans are cheaper per credit, and yearly is about 30% cheaper than monthly at every tier.

Plan Per 1,000 credits, yearly Per 1,000 credits, monthly Per 1,000 verifications, yearly
Starter $17.00 $24.50 $8.50
Growth $10.40 $14.90 $5.20
Scale $8.36 $11.96 $4.18

For a recruiter, 1,000 credits on Starter yearly is up to 1,000 found candidate emails for $17, and only found emails are charged.

How much does the Hunter API (Data Platform) cost?

The Data Platform tab sells credits without a subscription: "Determine how many credits you need, and only pay for the credits you're planning to spend." We set the calculator to four volumes:

Search credits bought Price Per 1,000
1,000 $50.00 $50.00
10,000 $209.00 $20.90
100,000 $950.00 $9.50
1,000,000 $6,900.00 $6.90

1,000 verification credits cost $11.00, and "Credits can be used up to 12 months from purchase." At low volume a subscription is far cheaper: 1,000 search credits cost $50 on the Data Platform against $17 inside a yearly Starter plan.

What add-ons does Hunter charge for?

Three add-ons are priced on the plan comparison table for Starter and above:

  • Additional email accounts: "From $10/mo per email account"
  • Custom domains and email accounts bought through Hunter: "From $6.00/mo per email account"
  • Inbox Protection (warm-up): from $6.00 a month per email account on yearly billing, from $7.50 on monthly

Extra credit packs are listed as available but not priced on the page. Registered US non-profits get "a special 30% discount on monthly plans."

How does Hunter.io compare to Apollo.io and RocketReach?

The biggest structural difference is seats. Apollo.io's pricing page, read the same day, prices Basic at $49 and Professional at $79 "Per seat per month, billed annually." Hunter plans cover unlimited team members, so the gap widens with team size.

List price (checked 1 Nov 2026) Hunter.io Apollo.io RocketReach
Entry paid plan, yearly Starter $34/month Basic $49/seat/month Essentials $33/month ($399 a year)
Mid plan, yearly Growth $104/month Professional $79/seat/month Pro $75/month ($899 a year)
Top listed plan, yearly Scale $209/month Organization $119/seat/month (min 3 seats) Ultimate $142/month ($1,699 a year)
Team of 5 for a year $408 (Starter) or $1,248 (Growth) $2,940 (Basic) or $4,740 (Professional) Not computed (seat count not modelled)

Apollo bundles contact and account data with unlimited sequences from Basic up, and RocketReach is email only on Essentials and adds verified mobile and direct phone numbers from Pro up. Our Apollo.io pricing, RocketReach pricing, Lusha pricing and ContactOut pricing checks cover each in detail.

On negotiated contracts, Vendr's Hunter page shows a median buyer paying $18,364 a year, with a range of $2,488 to $31,608. That is a buyer-reported estimate, not a Hunter list price, and Vendr does not show how many purchases it is based on.

How does Noon compare to Hunter.io?

Hunter finds and verifies an email once you know who to contact. Noon's AI sourcer starts a step earlier: it searches the whole web for candidates who fit a role, not just LinkedIn, then enriches their emails and runs personalized email and SMS outreach and interview scheduling.

The pricing models differ as well. Hunter meters every found email against a credit allowance. Noon sells one plan with unlimited sourcing, unlimited email enrichment, unlimited contacts, unlimited agents and unlimited seats, with no credits and no per-seat fees. Noon does not publish a dollar price; the pricing page explains how to get a quote. If you are stacking a finder, a sequencer and a sourcing tool, our guide to consolidating sourcing and outreach tools and the recruiting software pricing index show what that stack costs.

  • Apollo.io pricing and RocketReach pricing, read rendered on 1 November 2026 on their default annual billing.
  • Vendr's Hunter page, read 1 November 2026, for the buyer-reported median.
  • Demand check: DataForSEO Google Ads volume, US, 1 November 2026 ("hunter.io pricing", "hunter io pricing" and "hunter.io price" at 210 searches a month each).
  • Savings, per-credit costs and team totals come from seo/research/stats/hunter-io-pricing-2026/compute.py. Exact quotes and fetch times are in the committed sources.json.

Limitations

  • Enterprise pricing and extra credit packs are not priced on the page.
  • Data Platform verification prices are given only for 1,000 credits ($11.00); the calculator did not update the verification total reliably in our automated browser at other volumes.
  • The Apollo team total assumes five paid seats at list; Apollo and RocketReach both offer other seat counts and add-ons not modelled here.
  • The Vendr figure reflects negotiated deals that may include API or enterprise volume, so it is not comparable with list prices.
  • Prices change. All figures are as read on 1 November 2026.
