Key takeaway: $49 a month is ContactOut's cheapest paid plan. Its pricing page, read on 29 October 2026, lists Email at $49 and Email + Phone at $99 a month (shown reduced from $99 and $199), with 300 or 600 exports a month and a "1 user per company limit" on every self-serve plan. "Unlimited" emails and phones are capped by ContactOut's terms at 2,000 email credits and 1,000 phone credits per account a month.

ContactOut is a contact data tool. You look someone up through its Chrome extension or search portal and it returns personal and work emails and phone numbers. It sells to sales and recruiting teams: its recruiters page says it is "Trusted by 1.4M recruiters," a vendor claim we could not verify. It competes with RocketReach, SignalHire, Lusha and Apollo.io.

Every price below was read in a rendered browser from a US connection on 29 October 2026, and the arithmetic comes from a script committed with this article. Three details shape the real cost: exports are the metered unit, not lookups; each self-serve plan allows one user per company; and teams that need more seats are sent to a sales-quoted Team plan, where buyer-reported contracts run far above list price.

How much does ContactOut cost?

ContactOut shows four cards: Free, Email, Email + Phone, and Team / API. The two paid self-serve plans show a struck-through price next to the current one, and the page shows prices per month with no annual option on screen.

ContactOut plan (checked 29 Oct 2026) Price shown Struck-through price Per year at that price Emails Phones Exports
Free $0 a month None $0 5 a day 5 a day 5 a day
Email $49 a month $99 $588 Unlimited Not included 300 a month
Email + Phone $99 a month $199 $1,188 Unlimited Unlimited 600 a month
Team / API Contact us None Not published Not published Not published Not published

The per-year column is our arithmetic, twelve times the monthly price. The struck-through prices make each plan look about half off (50.5% on Email, 50.3% on Email + Phone). The Free card carries the label "Limited time only," and nothing on the page says how long the reduced paid prices last.

Moving from Email to Email + Phone costs $50 a month more and adds phone numbers and 300 more exports a month, plus data enrichment and the AI Email Writer.

What counts as an export on ContactOut?

Exports are the cap that matters. Emails are listed as unlimited on both paid plans and phones as unlimited on Email + Phone, but each plan has a fixed export allowance: 300 a month on Email and 600 a month on Email + Phone, or 3,600 and 7,200 over a year. The Free plan allows 5 exports a day, about 150 over 30 days.

At list price that is about $0.163 per export on Email and $0.165 on Email + Phone. For a recruiter reaching 100 new candidates a month, Email covers that volume three times over and Email + Phone six times over. That 100-candidate figure is our example, not ContactOut's; for real outreach volumes, see how many candidates recruiters contact per week.

The pricing page does not define an export, and it does not say whether viewing a contact without exporting it uses anything. Check that in a trial before you size a plan.

Is ContactOut's unlimited plan really unlimited?

No. Every "Unlimited emails" and "Unlimited phones" line on the pricing page has a tooltip saying it is "subject to our fair use policy," linked to section 10 of the terms of use. That section reads: "The credit limit is 2,000 email credits per account per month and 1,000 phone credits per account per month unless we enter into a separate agreement with you."

So an Email + Phone account can draw up to 2,000 email credits and 1,000 phone credits a month, against an export allowance of 600 a month. The terms count credits per account, not per user, which matches the one-user limit on the self-serve plans.

Does ContactOut charge per user?

The self-serve plans are single-user. The Free, Email and Email + Phone cards all list "1 user per company limit." Team features (team management and reports, a bulk license to "700million+ profiles," Salesforce and ATS integrations, a dedicated account manager, and "Works with recruiter Pro") sit on the Team / API card, which has no price and a "Contact us" button.

That is the main structural difference from SignalHire, whose paid plans list unlimited users sharing one credit pool. A five-recruiter team cannot buy five Email + Phone plans under one company on the self-serve tier; it has to talk to sales.

What do ContactOut team contracts cost?

ContactOut publishes no Team or API price. The only figure we found is buyer-reported: Vendr's ContactOut listing, read on 29 October 2026, says the "Median buyer pays $32,050 per year," with a range of $10,200 to $102,340. These are estimates from contracts Vendr has seen, not ContactOut prices.

Even the low end of that range is about 8.6 times a year of Email + Phone on monthly billing ($1,188), and the median is about 27 times. The gap reflects multi-seat and API contracts, not a markup on the same single-user plan.

Does ContactOut offer annual billing or regional prices?

Not on screen. The page renders no monthly and yearly switch. Its page code does carry yearly plan entries that are not shown: Email at $39 a month ($468 billed annually) and Email + Phone at $79 a month ($948 billed annually), with 3,600 and 7,200 exports a year. If offered, those would be about 20% below twelve months of the displayed prices. Treat them as unconfirmed until ContactOut shows them to you at checkout.

The page code also holds a second plan set marked "except_us" (Email at $25 and Email + Phone at $49 a month), so buyers outside the US may see lower prices than the ones in this article. We read the page from the US only.

What do free ContactOut users agree to?

Section 5 of the terms, "Data sharing and rights for free or subsidized users," says that when you provide data through the service, you grant ContactOut "a perpetual and irrevocable license to access and use the Submitted Data in aggregated form," and "the perpetual and irrevocable right to sublicense, make available, copy, display, publish or distribute the Submitted Data to any third party." The section applies unless a Premium Services Agreement supersedes it.

For a recruiting team that uploads candidate lists or syncs an ATS, that is a reason to read the subscription agreement before relying on the Free plan. Section 2 says paid subscribers are governed by their subscription agreement and order form.

How does ContactOut pricing compare to RocketReach, SignalHire and Lusha?

All four publish prices, read rendered on 29 October 2026. They meter data differently (ContactOut and RocketReach by exports, SignalHire per contact found, Lusha per credit with a phone number costing 5), so this compares a year of a plan that includes phone numbers, not identical bundles.

Plan (checked 29 Oct 2026) Price for a year Phone contacts a year Cost per phone contact Users
ContactOut Email + Phone (monthly billing) $1,188 7,200 exports $0.165 1 per company
RocketReach Pro (annual) $899 3,600 exports $0.25 1 seat
SignalHire Phones, default tier (yearly) $684 5,400 credits $0.127 Unlimited
Lusha Starter (yearly) $449.40 960 (4,800 credits at 5 each) $0.468 1 seat

ContactOut has the highest yearly price of the four but the largest phone allowance, so it lands second cheapest per phone contact, behind SignalHire. For tools built for recruiting rather than sales, see the best sourcing tools for recruiters and the recruiting software pricing index.

How does Noon fit next to ContactOut?

ContactOut sells contact details for people you have already found, metered in exports and capped at one user on its self-serve plans. Noon is built for recruiting end to end: an AI sourcer that searches the whole web for candidates, not just LinkedIn, evaluates them against your role's criteria, finds their contact details, runs personalised email and SMS outreach and books interviews.

Noon sells one plan with unlimited sourcing, unlimited email enrichment, unlimited contacts, unlimited agents and unlimited seats, so a whole recruiting team works from one account with no export counts. Noon does not publish a dollar price; the pricing page explains how to get a quote.

Limitations

  • These are point-in-time list prices in US dollars on 29 October 2026, shown to a US visitor. Prices may differ by region, and the reduced prices may change without notice.
  • The yearly and "except_us" figures come from page code, not from prices displayed on the page. They are reported for context only.
  • ContactOut does not define an export on the pricing page or say how email and phone credits map to exports.
  • The Vendr range is buyer-reported and covers contracts of unknown size and scope; it is an estimate, not a ContactOut price.
  • The comparison is plan to plan; the four tools meter data in different units and are not identical bundles.
  • The 100-candidates-a-month recruiter is an illustrative volume, not measured usage.
