Key takeaway: $79 a month billed annually is the cheapest CodeSignal Hire plan. Its pricing page, read on 28 October 2026, lists Build at $79 a month for 60 credits a year and Grow at $479 a month for 420 credits a year, or $99 and $599 a month on monthly billing. Pro is custom. Every credit beyond your allowance costs $20, so Grow becomes the cheaper plan once a team uses more than 300 credits a year.

CodeSignal sells three products on one pricing page: Hire (skills assessments and AI interviews for recruiting teams), Learn (upskilling) and Education (for universities). This page is about Hire, the product recruiters buy. Its pricing FAQ says "Hire starts at $79 per month billed annually," while Learn is free for individuals with Cosmo+ at $24.99 a month, and Education is custom-priced.

Every price below was read in a rendered browser on 28 October 2026, on both the Annually and Monthly views, with each FAQ answer opened. Annual totals, cost per credit and the break-even point are our arithmetic from a script committed with this article.

Two details shape the real cost. A credit is spent when a candidate starts an assessment, AI interview or live interview, not when you send the invite. And the $20 on-demand rate is 26.6% more than a Build credit and 46.1% more than a Grow credit bought in the annual allowance.

How much does CodeSignal cost?

CodeSignal Hire has three plans. Build and Grow publish prices; Pro says "Talk to sales." The page shows the price per month in US dollars.

CodeSignal Hire plan (checked 28 Oct 2026) Billed annually, per month Annual total Billed monthly Credits
Build $79 $948 $99 ($1,188 a year) 60 a year, or 5 a month
Grow $479 $5,748 $599 ($7,188 a year) 420 a year, or 35 a month
Pro Custom Custom Custom "Custom credits, based on your needs"

The toggle says annual billing saves 20%. Against monthly billing, Build saves $240 a year (20.2%) and Grow saves $1,440 (20.0%). The annual credit allowance is exactly twelve times the monthly one on both plans, so annual billing buys the same credits for less and lets you use them unevenly across the year.

Grow costs 6.06 times as much as Build for 7 times the credits. For prices across other recruiting software, see the recruiting software pricing index.

How do CodeSignal credits work?

The pricing FAQ says a credit "is used when a candidate starts an assessment, AI interview, or live interview, not when you send one." Credits are interchangeable across those three formats, and unopened invitations cost nothing.

Plan (codesignal.com, 28 Oct 2026) Cost per credit, annual Cost per credit, monthly On-demand credit On-demand premium over annual
Build $15.80 $19.80 $20 26.6%
Grow $13.69 $17.11 $20 46.1%

When you run out, nothing stops. The FAQ says CodeSignal "charges on-demand credits at $20 each, billed on your next cycle, so there's no hard stop mid-search." That keeps a search moving, but it also means an under-sized plan shows up as a bigger bill rather than a blocked invite.

When is CodeSignal Grow cheaper than Build?

At 300 credits a year. Build's $948 plus 240 on-demand credits at $20 equals Grow's $5,748. Below that, Build plus overage is cheaper; above it, Grow wins, before counting Grow's extra features.

Candidates starting a CodeSignal test or interview in a year Build annual + $20 credits Grow annual + $20 credits
60 $948 $5,748
120 $2,148 $5,748
200 $3,748 $5,748
300 $5,748 $5,748
420 $8,148 $5,748
600 $11,748 $9,348

These are our example volumes on list prices, not CodeSignal's. A team running 420 candidates a year through Build would pay $8,148, or $2,400 more than Grow.

What does each CodeSignal plan include?

The plan cards and the "Compare all features" table on the Hire tab set the limits. A dash on the page means not included.

Feature (codesignal.com, 28 Oct 2026) Build Grow Pro
Assessments Universal and core tech, 2,000 questions Adds core go-to-market and HR assessments Full library, including finance and operations
AI Interviewers Product, design, engineering Adds sales, CS and marketing roles All agents
Live tech interviews Yes Yes Yes
In-session AI assistance No Yes Yes
AI proctoring, ID verification, Suspicion Score Yes Yes Yes
ATS integrations No Gem and Ashby Adds Workday, iCIMS, Oracle and more
API access No Basic API Advanced API
SSO, SCIM, RBAC, audit logs No No Yes
Bulk invites, custom questions, custom AI Interviewers No No Yes
Support Email, weekdays 9 to 5 PT Email, weekdays 9 to 5 PT 24/7/365, senior or principal CSM

Two gaps matter for recruiting teams. Build has no ATS integration at all, and Grow connects only to Gem and Ashby, so a team on Greenhouse, Lever or Workday needs Pro for a native link. The security FAQ says every plan includes SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA compliance; SSO and audit logs are Pro only. For why ID checks now sit in every tier, see our fake job applicant statistics.

What do companies pay for CodeSignal Pro?

CodeSignal does not publish a Pro price. The closest public figure is a buyer-reported estimate: Vendr's CodeSignal listing, read on 28 October 2026, says the "Median buyer pays $24,000 per year," based on 63 purchases, with a range from $6,800 to $66,256.

That median is 4.18 times Grow's $5,748 list price, or the price of 1,200 on-demand credits. Vendr does not say which plan or how many credits those contracts cover, so treat it as a budgeting range for negotiated contracts, not a CodeSignal price.

How does CodeSignal pricing compare to HackerRank, CoderPad and Codility?

All four publish entry prices, read rendered on 28 October 2026. They count usage slightly differently (CodeSignal when a candidate starts, HackerRank when an attempt is completed, CoderPad per test or interview, Codility per invite credit), so this compares list price per included unit, not identical bundles.

Plan (checked 28 Oct 2026) Price for a year Units included a year Cost per unit Extra unit
CodeSignal Build $948 60 credits $15.80 $20
CodeSignal Grow $5,748 420 credits $13.69 $20
HackerRank Starter $948 60 attempts $15.80 $20
HackerRank Pro $5,028 360 attempts $13.97 $20
CoderPad Starter $960 60 interviews $16.00 $30
CoderPad Team $4,800 360 interviews $13.33 $30
Codility Starter (annual only, 1 user) $1,200 120 invite credits $10.00 Not published

CodeSignal Build and HackerRank Starter are priced identically: $79 a month, 60 a year, $20 extra. Grow costs $720 a year more than HackerRank Pro but includes 60 more credits, and it carries the lowest overage rate in its tier alongside HackerRank. For a wider look at the category, see our skills assessment tools comparison.

How does Noon fit next to CodeSignal?

CodeSignal tests candidates you already have, and every candidate who starts a test spends a credit. Noon works earlier in the funnel: an AI recruiter that searches the whole web for candidates, not just LinkedIn, evaluates and ranks them against your role's criteria, runs personalised email and SMS outreach and books interviews, with 20+ ATS integrations. Its voice AI Interviewer runs screening conversations with a transcript and a next-round recommendation.

Noon sells one plan with unlimited sourcing, unlimited email enrichment, unlimited contacts, unlimited agents and unlimited seats, so there are no credits to ration. Noon does not publish a dollar price; the pricing page explains how to get a quote.

Sources and methodology

  • CodeSignal pricing page, read rendered in Chrome via Playwright on 28 October 2026: the Hire tab on the default Annually view and the Monthly view, every FAQ answer opened, the Hire "Compare all features" table read row by row, and the Learn tab.
  • Vendr CodeSignal listing, read 28 October 2026: buyer-reported median, low and high from 63 purchases. These are estimates, not CodeSignal prices.
  • HackerRank pricing, CoderPad pricing and Codility pricing, read rendered on 28 October 2026.
  • Demand check: DataForSEO Google Ads volume, US, 28 October 2026: 70 searches a month each for "codesignal pricing" and "codesignal price."
  • Annual totals, savings, cost per credit, the 300-credit break-even and the comparison table come from seo/research/stats/codesignal-pricing-2026/compute.py. Exact quotes and fetch times are in the committed sources.json.

Limitations

  • These are point-in-time list prices in US dollars on 28 October 2026. Annual totals are twelve times the monthly figure shown; CodeSignal's checkout may differ.
  • The pricing page does not state how many users each Hire plan includes, so this page makes no seat comparison.
  • The break-even table assumes every extra credit is bought on demand at $20 and that unused annual credits have no value.
  • Pro has no published price. The Vendr figures are buyer-reported, cover unknown plans and volumes, and may include Learn contracts.
  • The HackerRank, CoderPad and Codility comparison is plan to plan; the tools count usage differently and are not identical bundles.
