Codility publishes dollar prices for two of its three plans. The Scale card says annual payment gives "two months free", and the arithmetic confirms it: $6,000 is 10 months of the $600 monthly price, a saving of $1,200 or 16.7% (the toggle rounds it to "Save 17%").

There is no month-to-month Codility plan. Starter is "Annual billing only", and the monthly Scale price carries the footnote "Annual commitment, billed monthly", so every self-serve contract is a one-year commitment; the monthly option only spreads the payment, at a $1,200 premium.
Scale costs 5 times the price of Starter on annual billing ($6,000 against $1,200) for 2.5 times the invite credits (300 against 120) and 3 times the platform users. It adds a larger task library "spanning engineering, AI, and system design", custom task building with MCP from your IDE, and standard analytics on top of Starter's basic proctoring.
What counts as a Codility invite credit?
The unit is the invite, not the completed test. Both self-serve plans describe the allowance as invite credits "to use in Screen or Interview", and the pricing FAQ describes Starter as "120 assessment invites per year". A credit is spent when you invite a candidate, whether or not they finish.
Codility's Help Center explains how unused invites come back. Invitations can be cancelled "as long as the candidate has not started the session", and "invites cancelled within the current invite allowance period will be returned". Expiration is opt-in: "expiration periods are not enabled by default", and when switched on they can be set from 1 to 90 days. A cancelled expired invite is returned to the quota "provided that this is done within the same billing period as the invite was sent".
In practice, a candidate who never opens the test keeps your credit only if someone cancels the invite before the allowance period ends. Teams that send tests at the top of the funnel should switch expiration on and review unstarted sessions before each renewal.

This is the unusual part of Codility's pricing: the larger plan is the more expensive one per candidate. On Starter each invite costs $10.00; on annual Scale it costs $20.00, and on monthly Scale $24.00. What Scale buys is not cheaper volume but more seats, the larger task library, custom tasks via MCP, analytics and a monthly rhythm of up to 25 invites.
As an illustration of the arithmetic, a pipeline that sends 10 Codility invites per engineering hire fits 12 hires a year into Starter's allowance and 30 into Scale's. Scale's 25-a-month limit also caps a single busy month at 2 or 3 hires at that ratio, however many credits are left for the year.

The units are not identical. HackerRank's FAQ counts an attempt when a candidate completes a test or interview, while Codility's allowance is expressed in invites sent, with credits returned only when an unstarted invite is cancelled in the same period. On paper Codility is cheaper per unit at the entry level and dearer at the mid tier, but a funnel where many candidates never start the test narrows or reverses that gap.
What does Codility Custom add?
Custom has no published price. The card lists these features beyond the self-serve plans:
- Skills Intelligence, to "understand and map the capabilities of your workforce", alongside Screen and Interview
- Unlimited platform users with role-based access, and both the Engineering and Business task libraries
- Enterprise integrations with Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and SAP, plus SSO and SAML, full API, weighted scoring and premium analytics

The FAQ is explicit that integrations sit in Custom: "If your team needs Skills Intelligence, dedicated support, integrations, or help designing an assessment programme, a Custom plan is the better fit." The page lists no ATS integration on Starter or Scale, so teams that need results in Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby should expect a Custom quote.
Does Codility have a free trial?
Yes, but not a self-serve one. The FAQ says "Free trials run through our team rather than as a self-serve signup", scoped "to your roles, your volume and the products you want to see working". The page does not state a trial length or a trial invite allowance. Starter and Scale themselves are self-serve, with "Self-serve sign up, standard support" on both cards.
What is included on every Codility plan?
All three cards list task leakage protection ("leaked tasks removed from the library"), an Agentic AI Copilot "with reviewable activity per assessment", and plagiarism detection with core integrity signals. The FAQ says AI skills assessment (tasks on prompt engineering, evaluating AI-generated code and working with AI tools) "is available across all plans", and that every plan includes unlimited Collaborator Users, who can join interviews and review submissions but cannot configure the platform.
On security, the FAQ says Codility "is SOC 2 Type II certified, ISO 27001 certified, and GDPR compliant", with a choice of EU or US data hosting for enterprise clients. Why do third-party sites list different Codility prices?
Several of the top Google results for "codility pricing" on the check date quoted figures that do not match Codility's own page. One directory's snippet listed Scale at "$6,000/month or $72,000/year", another listed Scale at "$500 /mo", and a comparison site said Starter "lists at $100/year". Codility's rendered page shows Scale at $6,000 a year or $600 a month, and Starter at $1,200 a year. Treat the vendor page as the only published price and check it on the day you buy.
Is there an alternative to paying per invite for technical screening?
Invite pricing ties the cost of screening to the number of candidates you contact, and on Codility the credit is spent at the invite, before you know whether the candidate will engage. The plan cards were recorded in the default view with the Scale toggle on Yearly, then the toggle was switched to Monthly and the cards recorded again; the Custom card's full feature list was expanded and each FAQ answer was opened and recorded. Invite return rules come from two Codility Help Center articles read the same day: Cancel a Candidate Invite and Screen Invite Expiration. HackerRank figures were re-read from HackerRank's rendered pricing page on the same day.
Per-invite, per-user, annualised and savings figures are arithmetic on the published prices. Third-party figures are quoted from Google result snippets returned by DataForSEO for "codility pricing" on the check date, only to show that they disagree with the vendor page.
