Key takeaway: TestGorilla's Core plan costs $215 per month on an annual commitment, billed as $2,580 a year for 750 credits, on its pricing page as read on 28 September 2026. A 1,000-credit Core package costs $280 per month ($3,360 a year). Plus starts from $520 per month ($6,240 a year) and Enterprise is quote-only. The Free plan costs $0 and includes 10 credits every month. A skills test uses 1 credit per candidate and an AI interview uses 2, so on Core each tested candidate costs about $3.36 to $3.44.
TestGorilla sells pre-employment skills tests, video questions, AI interviews and access to a pool of skills-tested candidates, all paid for with one currency: credits. The pricing page headline is "Flexible credit pricing" and its promise is "Pay only for what you use", but every paid plan is an annual commitment and the credits come in fixed yearly packages.
TestGorilla publishes most of its pricing on the page itself. The Core card shows two credit packages and their prices, Plus shows a starting price, and the feature matrix lists the credit cost of every tool. What the page does not show is a monthly billing option, the credit allowance on Plus, or the price of extra credits.
Every figure below was read from TestGorilla's rendered pricing page on 28 September 2026. Annual totals, per-credit and per-candidate figures are our arithmetic on those published prices. For how TestGorilla fits among other assessment platforms, see our skills assessment tools comparison, and for prices across recruiting software categories see the recruiting software pricing index.
How much does TestGorilla cost in 2026?
| Plan | Monthly equivalent | Billed annually | Credits | Full access seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 10 per month | 1 |
| Core (750 credits) | $215/month | $2,580/year | 750 per year | 2 |
| Core (1,000 credits) | $280/month | $3,360/year | 1,000 per year | 2 |
| Plus | From $520/month | From $6,240/year | Not published | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Contact sales | Not published | Unlimited |
Both paid self-serve cards say "Annual commitment", and the Core credit dropdown offered only the 750 and 1,000 packages on the check date. Hiring manager seats are unlimited on every plan, including Free; the seat limits apply to admin and recruiter seats.
Plus starts at 2.4 times the entry Core price: $520 against $215 a month, or $6,240 against $2,580 a year, a difference of $3,660 a year. For that, Plus adds AI interviews with full customization, job simulations, custom tests and coding challenges, ID verification, up to 20 custom questions per assessment, ATS integrations and API access, removal of TestGorilla branding and unlimited full access seats. Enterprise adds scientific validation, security and compliance reviews and tailored agreements.
How do TestGorilla credits work?
The pricing FAQ says credits are spent per candidate, and different tools cost different amounts:
| Tool | Credit cost per candidate | Available on |
|---|---|---|
| Resume scoring | 0 (free) | Free, Core, Plus |
| Qualifying questions | 0 (free) | Free, Core, Plus |
| Custom questions (essay, multiple choice, file upload) | 0 (free) | Free and Core: 5 per assessment. Plus: 20 |
| Skills tests | 1 | Free: 5 tests. Core and Plus: 350+ tests |
| Video questions | 1 | Free, Core, Plus |
| Inviting a candidate from the talent pool | 1 | Core, Plus |
| ID verification | 1 | Plus |
| AI interviews | 2 | Free: limited access. Plus: full |
| Job simulations | 2 | Plus |
Two rules in the FAQ matter for budgeting. Credits "are charged when a candidate starts the assessment", and "if a candidate drops off mid-assessment, credits are not refunded." Candidates who fail the free qualifying questions use no credits, so putting qualifying questions first is the cheapest way to protect a credit package. TestGorilla says its completion rates are "85-90%", which is a vendor-reported figure.
Credits are shared across products. The FAQ says they can be spent either on TestGorilla Sourcing, its pool of more than 2 million skills-tested candidates, or on Assessments, or on both.
How much does TestGorilla cost per candidate?
On the published Core prices, one credit costs $3.44 on the 750-credit package ($2,580 divided by 750) and $3.36 on the 1,000-credit package ($3,360 divided by 1,000). The extra 250 credits in the larger package cost $780, or $3.12 each.
| Candidate step | Credits | Cost on Core 750 | Cost on Core 1,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skills tests or video questions | 1 | $3.44 | $3.36 |
| Talent pool invite | 1 | $3.44 | $3.36 |
| Candidates covered by one package at 1 credit each | 750 a year | 1,000 a year |
AI interviews and job simulations, at 2 credits each, are listed as Plus features, and the page does not publish how many credits Plus includes, so a per-candidate cost for them on Plus cannot be calculated from the page.
In practice the real cost per hire depends on how many candidates you test for each opening. A team that tests 50 candidates for each of 15 hires uses the whole 750-credit package in a year; a team testing 100 candidates per role uses the whole 1,000-credit package in 10 roles.
What does TestGorilla cost in pounds and euros?
The currency selector offers USD, GBP, EUR, AUD and INR. The GBP and EUR cards, read the same day:
| Plan | USD | GBP | EUR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core (750 credits), per month | $215 | £160 | €185 |
| Core (750 credits), billed annually | $2,580 | £1,920 | €2,220 |
| Plus, per month from | $520 | £390 | €445 |
| Plus, billed annually from | $6,240 | £4,680 | €5,340 |
These are the list prices the page displays for each currency; the page does not say how or when they are set.
Does TestGorilla have a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan costs $0, needs no credit card and includes 10 credits every month, one full access seat and unlimited hiring manager seats. It covers 5 skills tests (Big 5, Problem Solving, Communication, Time Management and Motivation), 5 preset custom questions, resume scoring, qualifying questions and limited video questions and AI interviews.
Ten credits a month is enough to test 10 candidates on a 1-credit assessment, or 5 on a 2-credit AI interview. The FAQ also points out that resume scoring, qualifying questions and custom questions cost zero credits, so "you can create a complete screening assessment for 0 credits", as long as it uses no skills tests.
Does TestGorilla offer discounts?
The pricing FAQ names two programs: discounts for NGOs and for startups.
- Startups: the Startup Partner Program has three tracks, and a startup must be backed by a VC or accelerator and affiliated with one of TestGorilla's approved Startup Partners. The first track offers up to 75% off year one, 50% off year two and 25% off year three, for startups under 5 years old with less than €2M raised (the page's FAQ says 2M USD). The second, for seed or pre-Series A startups with more than €2M raised, offers up to 50% then 25%. The third, for startups up to Series B, offers up to 30% then 15%. Approved startups choose "your credit package and 2 or 3-year plan", and second and third-year discounts "apply to the same or higher value Plus plans only". Extra credits can be bought at a discounted rate, and on this program "credits do not carry over to the next year."
- Non-profits: the NGO Partner Program is open to registered non-profits, charities and foundations that upload their documentation. It promises "significant discounts" but publishes no percentage.
The startup discounts are multi-year commitments, not a cheaper monthly plan, and "up to" means the approved rate can be lower.
What is included on every TestGorilla plan?
The feature matrix lists the same anti-cheating set on Free, Core and Plus: webcam snapshots, disabled copy and paste, multiple attempt prevention, candidate location logging, full-screen mode, large question pools, question exposure monitoring, timed tests and an honesty agreement. Every plan also lists GDPR compliance and SOC 2 Type II compliance.
The differences sit in integrations and support. ATS integrations and API access are Plus features; the listed ATS integrations include Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Lever, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Ashby, Bullhorn and Zoho Recruit. Single sign-on is Microsoft only on Free and Google or Microsoft on Core and Plus. Onboarding and rollout support starts on Plus.
Is there an alternative to paying per candidate for screening?
Credit pricing ties screening cost to candidate volume: every started assessment, video question or AI interview draws down a fixed yearly package. In Noon evaluation calls, a buying criterion we hear often is a preference for unlimited usage over credit-based models, alongside the question of whether pricing is per seat or covers unlimited users. On TestGorilla the two meet: Core caps full access seats at 2, and every paid plan draws down a yearly credit package that does not refund drop-offs.
Noon's AI Interviewer runs first-round screens as a live voice conversation: candidates get an email link, start when they are ready, and answer the questions your team defines, then Noon returns a full transcript, a structured analysis and a next-round recommendation. For the interviews your team runs itself, the AI Notetaker joins the meeting, transcribes it with speaker labels and tracks which planned questions were covered. Our AI interviewer tools roundup compares voice screening with the other formats.
The pricing model is the opposite of credits: one plan with unlimited sourcing, contacts, agents and seats, on quote-based pricing. For teams that screen large or unpredictable candidate volumes, that removes the budgeting problem a credit package creates: a busy quarter does not spend down an allowance, and adding recruiters does not add seat fees. See the Noon pricing page for how it compares with metered tools. For other assessment formats priced per product or per seat, see Spark Hire pricing, and for deciding which skills to test at all, the skills gap analysis guide.
Sources and methodology
All plan prices, credit costs and FAQ answers were read from TestGorilla's rendered pricing page on 28 September 2026 (UTC) through a browser session. The default USD plan cards and the feature comparison matrix were recorded; the Core credit dropdown was switched from 750 to 1,000 credits a year and the displayed price recorded; the currency selector was switched to GBP and EUR and the Core and Plus cards recorded. The FAQ answers and the linked Startup and NGO program pages were read the same day. Per-credit, per-candidate, annual and ratio figures are arithmetic on the published prices. Every quote, URL and fetch timestamp is recorded in the source ledger committed with this article at seo/research/stats/testgorilla-pricing-2026/sources.json.
Search demand for "testgorilla pricing" was checked with DataForSEO on the same date: about 30 searches per month in the US, with the brand term "testgorilla" at about 4,400.
Limitations
- The Plus price is a "starts from" figure that "scales with your hiring needs", and the page does not publish how many credits Plus includes, the Enterprise price, or the price of extra credits. None of these are estimated here.
- The page shows no monthly billing option; both paid plans read "Annual commitment". Refund and cancellation terms are not on the pricing page.
- The main pricing page does not say whether unused credits roll over; ask before committing to a package size. The only statement found is on the Startup program page, where credits "do not carry over to the next year".
- The Startup program card gives the first track's funding limit as €2M, while the same page's FAQ says 2M USD; confirm with TestGorilla which applies.
- The 85-90% completion rate is TestGorilla's own figure.
- No third-party or buyer-reported prices are included. Prices are a point-in-time reading; check the vendor page before buying.
