Tithee Paal

“Be true to yourself and your work and lead by example.”
Tithee Paal has been named to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, the annual award recognizing the 100 most exceptional leaders and practitioners in talent acquisition. Honorees are selected by the Talent 100 committee from thousands of nominations and candidates across the industry, chosen for the impact of their work, the depth of their craft, and their influence on the future of recruiting. This is Tithee's story.
Tithee Paal never planned to build a career in HR and talent acquisition. It started with a summer internship during her master's degree in computers, an experience she thoroughly enjoyed and one that revealed she could leverage her technology background in unexpected ways.
That technical education became an early differentiator. It allowed her to conduct detailed candidate interviews and pre-screening at a level of rigor few of her peers could match, and the skill set marked her out from the start. What began as a summer job graduated into a full-time position, then evolved into a comprehensive HR career. She later completed a Master's in Business Administration, further strengthening her foundation in the field. The accident, as she calls it, became a calling.
The People Who Made the Difference
Tithee is quick to acknowledge that success is never a solo endeavor. An early manager groomed her and helped shape her professional approach. For the past 18 years, her boss has served as mentor, guide, and close friend, witnessing her entire journey. Great colleagues supported her in those formative years and kept her on track through the moments that felt overwhelming. Her parents, meanwhile, provided immense strength during difficult stretches at work, a support system she could return home to.
"For a person to succeed, it is an army of people who kind of enable that for you to be in the front and go and face the crowd every day," she says.
The AI Paradox
When it comes to artificial intelligence, Tithee holds what she calls a conflicted view, recognizing the technology as both a boon and a bane for talent acquisition. It excels at handling data-centric tasks and analytics in the background, creating clear efficiencies. What concerns her is what gets lost in the process.
"In the HR field, our whole interaction is about people," she explains. The role, as she sees it, is fundamentally about enabling and managing people so they can excel in their areas, and that requires genuine connection with employees to facilitate their growth and sustainability within an organization. Her worry is that a preoccupation with metrics and data pulls leaders away from human empathy. "Many times we are moving away from treating people as people," she notes.
None of which makes her a skeptic. She appreciates AI tools that clear small bottlenecks and save time on administrative work, and she sees those efficiency gains as genuinely valuable in helping teams move forward. The core principle simply remains unchanged. "As leaders, the focus should not move away from empathy, because AI will not give us that."
Advice for the Next Generation
Asked to distill nearly two decades of experience into guidance for other talent leaders, Tithee's answer is direct. "Be true to yourself and your work." Be honest with your profession. Lead by example. And above all, do not lose sight of what matters most, the people.
The Talent 100 exists to celebrate the people shaping the future of how the world hires, and few embody that better than Tithee. We are honored to welcome Tithee Paal to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, and grateful for the experience, perspective, and craft they bring to this community. Congratulations, Tithee. Welcome to the Talent 100.
