Kimberly Braithwaite
Empire Valuation Consultants
“Kindness and gratitude cost nothing, but they matter deeply.”
Kimberly Braithwaite has been named to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, the annual award recognizing up to 100 leaders in each category of talent acquisition. Honorees are nominated by peers or found by committees that look for excellent work wherever it happens, then chosen for the depth of their craft and their impact on hiring. This is Kimberly's story.
Kimberly Braithwaite, Human Resource Director at Empire Valuation Consultants, did not begin her career in recruiting. She found her way into it through a deeper calling: helping people change their lives.
Her path started in operations, after she earned an undergraduate degree in business management with a concentration in human resources. It was on the job that the shape of her interests became clear. What drew her in was not the mechanics of business but the people moving through it. She went on to pursue a master's degree in human resources and transitioned fully into the field, and it was there that she discovered recruiting.
Finding Purpose in Recruiting
From the beginning, Kimberly saw recruiting as more than filling roles. She understood it as a responsibility, an opportunity to help individuals and families change their trajectory through the right opportunity at the right moment.
That conviction showed up in the details of how she worked. When a candidate was not the right fit for her organization, she did not simply close the file. She would connect that person with others in her network, making sure they still had a chance to land somewhere meaningful. For Kimberly, success has never been measured in hires alone. It is measured in impact.
Leading with Empathy and Gratitude
As she advanced, Kimberly was shaped by leaders who went well beyond management. They were mentors and advocates, people who led with empathy, offered honest feedback, supported growth, and genuinely cared about their teams. That influence stayed with her and became a model for her own leadership.
It was reinforced by a value she learned early in life: kindness and gratitude cost nothing, but they matter deeply. That belief still guides how she leads, how she communicates, and how she builds relationships.
Navigating a Challenging Talent Market
Working deeply within healthcare and physician recruiting, Kimberly operates in one of the most complex areas of talent acquisition, and she has seen firsthand how difficult the job market has become. Many candidates are unemployed for extended periods, applying to hundreds of roles without response, or pursuing opportunities that never materialize. At the same time, organizations are contending with constraints of their own.
That imbalance is precisely what makes the recruiter's role so consequential in her view. Recruiters are advocates, the people who help bridge the gap between opportunity and talent when neither side can easily reach the other.
Balancing AI and Human Connection
As AI continues to reshape recruiting, Kimberly takes a balanced approach. She actively explores new tools and recognizes their value in handling repetitive tasks and generating ideas, but she is clear-eyed about their limitations. AI can offer suggestions, yet it does not understand people. It does not know personalities, emotions, or context, and in situations that require nuance, whether conflict, communication, or decision-making, human involvement remains essential.
For Kimberly, then, the future is not a choice between AI and humans. It is a question of using both in the right way.
Kimberly's Advice for 2026
Her guidance for the year ahead begins with staying true to the human side of recruiting. Technology will keep evolving, but recruiting at its core is about people, and when conversations matter, humans need to be involved.
From there, she advises treating AI as a support system rather than a replacement. It can provide helpful insights and absorb transactional work, but it cannot fully grasp the nuances of human relationships or the realities of context.
Finally, she urges recruiters to keep learning and adapting. Every phase of the profession, from job boards to LinkedIn to AI, has demanded adaptation. The leaders who stay curious and continue learning will always find ways to succeed.
The Talent 100 exists to celebrate the people shaping the future of how the world hires, and few embody that better than Kimberly. We are honored to welcome Kimberly Braithwaite to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, and grateful for the experience, perspective, and craft they bring to this community. Congratulations, Kimberly. Welcome to the Talent 100.
