Emil Yeargin
Squint
“There are few professions that provide the opportunity to do as much good as recruiting.”
Emil Yeargin has been named to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, the annual award recognizing up to 100 leaders in each category of talent acquisition. Honorees are nominated by peers or found by committees that look for excellent work wherever it happens, then chosen for the depth of their craft and their impact on hiring. This is Emil's story.
Emil Yeargin fell into recruiting because it felt like the culmination of everything he was interested in coming out of college. He knew he liked sales, working with people, customer service, and helping others, and recruiting does all of those things well.
Most people he talks to landed in the profession serendipitously, on a hunch or a friend's recommendation. For Yeargin, it was different. Once he learned more about the work, he jumped into an agency and immediately fell in love. The rest is history.
The AI Shift
AI, in Yeargin's view, has become a great equalizer in recruiting. The skill differentiation that came with old school Boolean searches and filtering for the right level of talent has changed. AI, the ability to prompt, and tools like sourcing platforms have created a world where recruiters can see so much more than they used to, and teams no longer just rely on LinkedIn Recruiter or something along those lines.
But AI has also provided something else: a focus on the experience and a focus on the people. Companies are now forced to create differentiation through the value proposition, the interview experience, and the way candidates feel as they converse with the company. It has been really cool to automate sourcing and recruiting tasks that used to take up much of the day, and that automation frees recruiters to focus on what matters most.
The Core of the Work
What matters most, at its core, is the opportunity to really connect with people and change lives. "There are a few professions that I think provides you the opportunity to do as much good as recruiting allows you to do," Yeargin says.
That belief has stayed with him from his agency days through leading people teams. It is what drew him to the profession in the first place, and it is what keeps him in it today.
The Talent 100 exists to celebrate the people shaping the future of how the world hires, and few embody that better than Emil. We are honored to welcome Emil Yeargin to the Talent 100, Class of 2026, and grateful for the experience, perspective, and craft they bring to this community. Congratulations, Emil. Welcome to the Talent 100.
