Key takeaway: $24 a location a month is Homebase's cheapest paid plan. Its pricing page, read on 24 October 2026, lists Essentials at $24, Plus at $56 and All-in-One at $96 per location a month on annual billing, or $30, $70 and $120 on monthly billing, each with unlimited employees. The Basic plan is $0 for one location with up to 10 employees. Payroll is an add-on at $49 a month plus $6 per employee paid.

Homebase is a scheduling, time clock, payroll and hiring app for small businesses with hourly teams, such as restaurants, shops and clinics. It usually lands on the same shortlist as Connecteam, When I Work and Deputy. What sets its price apart is the unit: Homebase charges per location, not per user, so a single site with 30 or 100 employees pays the same plan price.

Every price below was read in a rendered browser on 24 October 2026, with the Annual and Monthly toggles each clicked and read, and the arithmetic comes from a script committed with this article. All prices are in US dollars.

How much does Homebase cost per month?

Homebase has four plans. Paid plans are priced per location per month and include unlimited employees.

Plan Annual billing (per location, per month) Monthly billing (per location, per month) Employees
Basic $0 $0 1 location, up to 10
Essentials $24 $30 Unlimited
Plus $56 $70 Unlimited
All-in-One $96 $120 Unlimited

What each tier adds, from the plan cards:

  • Basic: basic scheduling, basic time tracking, point-of-sale integration. Timesheets are stored for up to 90 days.
  • Essentials: advanced scheduling and time tracking, team communication, and timesheet storage for 4+ years.
  • Plus: an AI-powered scheduling assistant, PTO and time-off controls, departments and permissions.
  • All-in-One: employee onboarding, labor cost management, and HR and compliance.

Over a year, one location costs $288 on Essentials, $672 on Plus and $1,152 on All-in-One with annual billing, against $360, $840 and $1,440 paying monthly.

How much does hiring on Homebase cost?

Posting jobs and tracking applicants costs nothing. The hiring page says you can "Post jobs everywhere and track every applicant for free" and that this is "Free on every Homebase plan." The pricing page lists "Job posts, applicant tracking" among the features it says many others charge for. One caveat: the pricing FAQ recommends the Plus plan for teams over 10 employees "to get access to Hiring & Team Retention & Performance Tracking tools," so check which hiring features sit on which tier during the trial.

The paid hiring layer is three line items:

Hiring item Published price What it does
Job posts and applicant tracking $0 on every plan Post to job boards, track applicants
Hiring Assistant From $99 a month Screens every applicant "the moment they apply, 24/7" and books interviews
Job post boost From $50 a post Extra reach on job boards
Background check $30 each Per candidate checked

A month in which you run Hiring Assistant, boost two posts and check three finalists costs at least $289 ($99 + 2 × $50 + 3 × $30), before any plan fee. Without Hiring Assistant the same month is $190 in boosts and checks. Onboarding paperwork (W-4, W-9, I-9 and direct deposit forms, e-signatures) sits in All-in-One. For other tools in this space, see our roundup of employee onboarding software.

How much do you save with annual billing?

Annual billing takes 20% off every paid plan. The pricing page shows the saving per location: $72 a year on Essentials, $168 on Plus and $288 on All-in-One.

You can change plans at any time. Homebase says the newly chosen plan "will get activated at the start of the next billing cycle."

What does Homebase charge for more than one location?

Each physical business address is one location, and Homebase counts two shops in the same city as two locations if they have separate addresses. The plan price multiplies by location count:

Plan (annual billing) 1 location 3 locations 5 locations
Essentials $24 $72 $120
Plus $56 $168 $280
All-in-One $96 $288 $480

The free Basic plan covers one location only. Homebase's FAQ says teams with more than 10 employees or more than one location are asked to pick Essentials, Plus or All-in-One.

How much is Homebase payroll?

Payroll is an add-on available on every plan, including Basic. The standard price is $49 a month plus $6 per employee paid, with unlimited payroll runs and no implementation fee. Homebase says payroll is available to US businesses in all 50 states and Washington D.C.

Employees paid Payroll per month (standard)
5 $79
10 $109
25 $199
50 $349

Two promotions were live on 24 October 2026. The pricing page banner reads "Add Payroll, get 6 months of Payroll and Plus Plan on us. Limited time offer." The linked offer terms apply to teams of 5 or less, including the account owner, who complete payroll setup by 15 December 2026. After the six free months, payroll is "$29/month + $6 per employee paid, instead of the standard $49/month + $6 per employee paid," but only if you pay 5 or fewer employees when billed.

A worked example: one location with 20 employees on Plus (annual) plus standard payroll comes to $225 a month ($56 + $49 + $120). Three locations with 60 employees on Essentials, with payroll and Tip Manager at each site, come to $556 a month.

What add-ons does Homebase sell?

Add-on Price on the pricing page
Payroll $49 a month base fee + $6 a month per employee paid
Tip Manager $25 a month per location
Task Manager $13 a month per location
Background checks $30 each
Job post boosts Starting at $50 a post
Hiring Assistant Starting at $99 a month, first month free

Is Homebase free?

Yes, for one small site. The Basic plan is $0 for one location with up to 10 employees and covers basic scheduling, basic time tracking and point-of-sale integration.

Every account can also start a 14-day free trial of All-in-One with no credit card. If no plan is selected when the trial ends, Homebase switches the account to Basic, unless the team has more than 10 employees or more than one location, in which case a paid plan is required.

How does Homebase compare to Connecteam, When I Work and Deputy?

The four tools meter price differently: Homebase per location, Connecteam per hub with 30 users included, and When I Work and Deputy per user. Prices below were read on each vendor's own pricing page on 24 October 2026, using annual billing where offered.

Tool Starting paid price Pricing unit Free option
Homebase $24 a month (annual) Per location, unlimited employees 1 location, up to 10 employees
Connecteam $29 a month (yearly) Per hub, first 30 users Up to 10 users
When I Work $2.50 a user a month Per user, single location 14-day trial
Deputy $5 a user a month (annual) Per user Free trial

Monthly list cost for one location that only needs scheduling and time tracking:

Tool and plan 15 users 30 users 100 users
Homebase Essentials $24 $24 $24
Homebase Plus $56 $56 $56
Connecteam Operations Basic $29 $29 $85
Connecteam Operations Advanced $49 $49 $224
When I Work (single location) $37.50 $75 $250
Deputy Lite $75 $150 $500
Deputy Core $97.50 $195 $650

Per-location pricing wins for a single busy site: Homebase Essentials costs less than When I Work from 10 users up (the break-even is 9.6 users) and less than Deputy Lite from 5 users. It still wins across sites when each location is well staffed. Five locations with 20 employees each (100 users) cost $120 a month on Essentials or $280 on Plus, against $500 on When I Work's multi-location plan at $5 a user and $500 on Deputy Lite. Deputy's monthly plans are $5.50, $7.25 and $10 a user with a $30 minimum spend per invoice. How does Noon fit next to Homebase?

Every hiring line item above works on inbound applicants: you post a job, pay to boost it if reach is thin, and Hiring Assistant screens whoever applies. When applicants run short, the paid lever on the pricing page is more boosts at $50 a post. Finding people who are not browsing job boards is a sourcing job, a separate step from screening, and it matters most in high-volume recruiting and in retail hiring, where open shifts can outnumber applicants.

Noon is an AI sourcer built for that outbound side. It searches the whole web for candidates, not just LinkedIn, evaluates them against your role's criteria, finds their contact details, runs personalized email and SMS outreach and books interviews, with 20+ ATS integrations. Noon sells one plan with unlimited sourcing, unlimited email enrichment, unlimited contacts, unlimited agents and unlimited seats, so cost does not climb with locations or headcount. Noon does not publish a dollar price; the pricing page explains how to get a quote. Small teams weighing the full hiring stack can start with our guide to recruiting software for small businesses, and our recruiting software pricing index collects list prices across the category.

  • Hiring Assistant and job post boosts are shown as "starting at" prices; higher tiers are not listed on the pricing page.
