Working in a small team, I wrote C code on the Hybrid Simulation OPTimization (HSOPT) module of system verilog compiler VCS, mainly focusing on the flattening of “interface” and all the related stuff. By flattening the interfaces in a lower level module instead of the master module, the optimization can reduce the file size stored on the disk significantly (some cases reveal that the optimization can reduce as much as 50% of the original file size).
