• 9 mosJoined a team of five classmates to build a service to match Columbia students into online study groups based on similar characteristics and interests (had ~1.5k sign ups), in an effort to combat the lack of social interaction between classmates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Along with my team, I implemented machine learning algorithms and mathematical models to conduct the matching, developed web-scraping algorithms to build the directory of Columbia classes, designed the backend for the website using Django, PostgreSQL, and AWS, and wrote scripts to optimize website speed and automate email notifications to our users via Mailchimp.
