Software Engineer (SDE 1)

- Worked on scene text recognition and OCR that differentiates overlayed text from text in the background image using PyTorch and TensorFlow in order to extract semantic understanding from memes
- Created custom models for NLP and NLU tasks in Bahasa
- Utilized AWS Rekognition API and MongoDB to resolve faces in the memes to add additional labels to images

- Assisted in coordinating the Reilly-Spring Visit Visitation Program, a program which recruits high-achieving students to the University of Notre Dame
- Coordinated various activities for the prospective students, involving different departments on campus

Software Development Engineer Intern

- Implemented and measured the efficacy of a new natural language processing pipeline in Python, which laid the foundation for the replacement of the legacy pipeline after the end of my internship
- Wrote a middlewear GraphQL server to interact with an external graph database using Apollo and Typescript
- Implemented a publisher in Java to hook into existing processes and publish a graph to the database

Software Engineering Intern

- Assumed the responsibilities of a full time engineer which included piloting new projects, fixing bugs, migrating old code, leading meetings, and fixing production outages
- Learned React to implement new components in the UI as part of a project
- Learned Ruby on Rails to contribute to the core monolith and several microservices

- Analyzed the implementation of corporate strategy within Oracle Japan as a group, specifically the middleware and hardware business (IaaS, PaaS)
