I work on the driver earnings team. I led the expansion of upfront pay to more regions across the US so that drivers could see what they would get paid before accepting the ride. I led the insurance cost implementation for the earnings commitment project which guarantees that drivers will get a certain percentage of passenger pay after fees like insurance. I have worked with scientists to execute experiments related to driver pay to fine tune the payment policy when there are ride changes so that drivers are paid fairly even when unexpected traffic occurs. I led the implementation of a 5% bonus for Preferred Drivers in pilot regions. I used Python, Golang, and AWS.

· I worked on the Azure Communication Services team in phone number management and SMS. I launched toll free numbers to general availability. I used .NET, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Queues to allow users to reliably search and acquire phone numbers. · I successfully launched short codes to public preview, which involved coordinating across numerous teams both in and out of Microsoft. I designed it to build on top of the existing number management system while adding functionality to automate filling out a 20-field short code request form.

· I worked on Mixer in Gaming. I used PlayFab and Azure EventHub to build the leaderboards system for sparks and embers (virtual currency). I worked with the PlayFab team to design a new leaderboard backend system that would scale for thousands of concurrent leaderboards. I also created a dashboard view for the leaderboards using TypeScript with React. · I also worked on Mixer partner channel subscriptions including subscription gifting and the subscriptions v2 platform. This enabled subscription purchase on web, console, and mobile using Microsoft Store, Stripe, and PayPal. For the backend, I used Azure Cosmos DB, EventHub, and ServiceBus Queues. For the frontend, I used TypeScript with both React and Angular.

I continued working on Project Orleans. My main goal for the summer was to add the ability to run JavaScript applications on Orleans by embedding a JavaScript engine into the existing C# code. This will enable JavaScript developers to use the highly scalable distributed systems capabilities of Orleans without having to learn C#.
