Every company has a mission. What's ours? To empower every person and every organization to achieve more. We believe technology can and should be a force for good and that meaningful innovation contributes to a brighter world in the future and today. Our culture doesn’t just encourage curiosity; it embraces it. Each day we make progress together by showing up as our authentic selves. We show up with a learn-it-all mentality. We show up cheering on others, knowing their success doesn't diminish our own. We show up every day open to learning our own biases, changing our behavior, and inviting in differences. Because impact matters. \n\nMicrosoft operates in 190 countries and is made up of approximately 228,000 passionate employees worldwide.

I am currently working with a team from MentorMesh.io to create a product connecting small to medium-sized businesses with talented but not necessarily experienced individuals with technical skills to help the businesses adapt to the online marketplace in COVID-19 times, and to help individuals gain experience and hone their marketability. I'm also involved in with the Conviction Vacation Project to create a software solution that helps affected individuals or legal clinics staffed by non-subject matter experts follow the process of vacating a conviction as allowed by law in Washington State. Both of these projects are in market research and product design phases as of September 2020.

I worked on an ambulance contracted with the City of Seattle to provide transportation and supplemental Basic Life Support Care. Over my time with AMR, I provided high-quality CPR several times, including two successful saves; I assisted in the delivery of several babies, or provided care immediately after birth; and I assisted thousands of people suffering strokes, cardiac problems, car accidents, falls, respiratory problems, substance abuse issues, mental health challenges and countless other issues. I worked with patients and family members who did not speak English or had hearing loss. I responded to calls for people living on the street or in shelters. My partner and I were featured in the nation-wide company magazine after successfully delivering a baby! I am able to take charge of trying situations with a cool head, work for successful outcomes with people I've just met, evaluate urgency of a situation and always be aware of my surroundings.
Instructor of English for Academic Purposes
Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University · Full-time
Sep 2012 - Jun 2014
1 yr 10 mos
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had a mandate for higher education to be taught entirely in English, and many of the professors were not prepared. In conjunction with the University of Auckland, NZ, I was part of an inaugural team to bring English for Academic Purposes classes to the women's university. Over the course of two years, we helped about 75 professors per semester reach linguistic proficiency by daily lessons and exams; feedback on the professors' own curriculum, syllabi, tests and lectures; and test preparations for the International English Language Testing System. My focus was primarily in teaching the most beginner level courses and in reading comprehension proficiency. I also taught Nursing for Academic Purposes to upper level students, and generalized English classes for in-coming students at the university.
